§ 21-49. Loitering for the purpose of obtaining temporary employment; prohibiting employment; penalty.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful and a violation of this section for any person to stand or remain in or about any public street, public park, public sidewalk, public overpass or public bridge for the purpose of soliciting or obtaining temporary employment for a period of less than one (1) month except in an area that is zoned IU-1, IU-2, IU-3, IU-C or AU by Chapter 33 of the Code.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful and a violation of this section to pick up for purposes of temporary employment for a period of less than one (1) month any person while such person is engaged in the activity prohibited in Section 21-49(a).

    (c)

    Any person who violates Section 21-49(b) of this section shall be punished by a fine not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed thirty (30) days.
