§ 2-1502. Organization and staff support.

  • (a)

    Employees. The Mayor shall appoint the Executive Director of the Office who shall have the authority to administer its activities, and to hire and terminate its employees. The Executive Director may be a County employee or a contract employee of the Office. The employees of the Office shall be Miami-Dade County employees in the Exempt service.

    (b)

    Budget. Subject to the Miami-Dade County budgetary process and the availability of funds, the Mayor shall include in the County's annual budget, administrative costs and additional funds for the implementation of the Office's programmatic activities.
