Any person who suffers a loss as a result of a violation of any of the provisions
of this article, any lawful order of the Director, any cease and desist order or notice
to correct a violation issued by the Director or any assurance of compliance entered
into pursuant to Section 8A-82.1 of the code and this article, may recover compensatory damages, punitive damages,
attorney's fees and court costs as allowed by law from the person committing such
violation. Nothing herein shall be construed to require the Director to bring any
such action on behalf of a private person.
