A person operating a restaurant, hotel, store, food cart, catering facility or any
other place where meat, poultry, food or food products are sold or served shall not
be deemed to have committed a violation of this article if a preponderance of the
evidence establishes that said person relied in good faith upon the representations
of a slaughterhouse, manufacturer, processor, packer or distributor of any meat, poultry,
food or food products represented to be Kosher, Kosher for Passover or as having been
prepared according to or with a product sanctioned by the Code of Jewish Laws as set
forth in the Shulchan Aruch.
