§ 8A-236. Fortunetellers, clairvoyants, etc.; local business tax; exemptions.

(1)

Every fortuneteller, clairvoyant, palmist, astrologer, phrenologist, character reader, hypnotist, graphologist, spirit medium, absent-treatment healer, or mental healer and every person engaged in any occupation of a similar nature shall pay a local business tax as provided for in the schedule of taxes, Section 8A-247.1

This section does not apply to Christian churches who heal the sick by prayer or regularly ordained ministers of churches who are members of Florida State Spiritualist Ministerial Association whose charters are filed in the Library of Congress and on record in the State capital in Tallahassee.
