§ 33D-1. Legislative intent.

  • The aforesaid declarations [not set out herein] are hereby adopted as the legislative intent of the Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade County, Florida, and are made a part hereof. The Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade County, Florida, hereby declares and finds that the orderly and judicious management of the area within the above-described Biscayne Bay management boundary is essential to assure the protection and maintenance of the public health, safety and welfare of the present and future inhabitants of, and visitors, to, Miami-Dade County. It is the purpose and intent of this Board to protect the public health, safety and welfare through implementation of the Biscayne Bay management plan (hereinafter referred to as the plan). The plan provides a jurisdictional and interdisciplinary management structure to guide future planning and management decisions in a manner that will minimize adverse impacts upon, and maximize the benefits to the public at large.
