§ 2-1116. Relationship with Miami-Dade County.

  • As an agency and instrumentality of Miami-Dade County, the Trust shall be accountable directly to Miami-Dade County and subject to its Legislative and Executive powers. The Trust Chairperson, on behalf of the Trust, shall serve as liaison to the County through the County Mayor or his designee. The County Mayor or County Mayor's designee shall assign County staff to provide administrative support to the Trust, to the extent necessary to fulfill its duties. This will remain as the official and primary means of communication between the respective parties; notwithstanding, as to day-to-day matters, there will be communication between County personnel, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Trustees, committee members, personnel, and the County Commission, in compliance with the Sunshine Laws. The Trust described herein shall continue to be subject to modification or abolishment in whole or in part by duly enacted ordinance of the Commission. County Mayor shall at all times be empowered to conduct audits of the Trust, its activities and that of the support groups. Legal opinions by the County Attorney's Office shall be binding upon the Trust. (Ord. No. 17-42, § 1, 7-6-17)
