§ 2-1039. Organization.

  • (1)

    The board shall designate a chair and a vice-chair from among the members of the Council.

    (2)

    The County Manager and County Attorney shall provide staff support to the Council. The Clerk shall act as clerk and secretary to the Council, and shall provide all notices and perform other ministerial tasks.

    (3)

    A majority of members appointed and serving constitutes a quorum for the purpose of conducting business and for all other purposes. Action may be taken by the Council upon a vote of a majority of the members present.

    (4)

    The Council may develop and adopt rules to govern its internal procedures and operation, including the establishment of subcommittees.

    (5)

    The Board of County Commissioners, by and through the County Manager, shall act as the managing agent of the Council and shall have all the powers and responsibilities included in Section 290.0056(9), Florida Statutes.
